In a ceremony attended by Congressman Thomas Reynolds and U.S. Assistant Secretary of the Treasury Kevin I. Fromer, Robinson Ventures President Cian Robinson was honored as the Small Business Champion of the year. The award is given to those individuals who go above and beyond the call of duty in supporting the establishment and growth of small businesses. In addition to Mr. Robinson, Maureen Millane Rusk is being honored as the Small Business Advocate of the Year, Robitaille Relocation Services with the At Your Service Award, First Amherst Development Group with the Zenith Award and CompSys Technologies with the Innovation Award.

The Amherst Chamber of Commerce Small Business Council, which sponsored this event is one of the most active membership groups within the Chamber. Council Chairman Rich Calhstadt, Vice President at HSBC Bank, states, " Members of the Council recognize the value of small business to the regions economy and are committed to providing the tools to these firms to assist in their profitability and success. Further, this event provides us with a forum to salute local entrepreneurs and spread the message that small business is alive and well in Amherst and Western New York."
